Muse cafe menu8/13/2023 ![]() ![]() Whoever ownes/manages The Muse, you have a gold mine, don't take it for granted. The toilets looked lovely but the sensors on The taps only worked when they want ed to. The food was good but members of our group were ordering cocktails & beer that took 20 mins to arrive. 15 mins later we called to make our food choices. Once we got the attention of the waiter, he took the drinks order & said he would come back. Today ,however, a friend, on holiday asked me to book for the muse for his wife's special birthday. , at the time, the manager tried to fob us off with 2 bottles of ' free' wine. Local, usually €15-20) we were charged €30, we queried the bill but we're told, ' it was already in the system. There were 8 of us, we ordered sandwiches & wine. After that, We came as a group of ladies for lunch. We used to come to the Muse regularly until before lockdown. A very expensive night for poor quality food meant for a special occasion. Your website advertises top quality food and drinks and sadly our experience tonight was definitely neither. The only positive was our lovely Polish waiter who was kind and interactive, especially with our son. We were then ushered out and told our cab had arrived! Staff gave us our bill without us having asked and we were not offered dessert or coffee. We have eaten in some fabulous restaurants and this certainly isn’t comparable. Cost of burger removed from the bill but not great food overall. Pasta very bland and burger rare even though we asked for well done. It arrived and tasted as though it had simply been poured in the holder without cooking off properly. Lamb dish was nice but very dry- I asked for a jus and opted for. We had the lamb fillet, wagu burger, pasta and chicken wrap. ![]() Went to Muse for my husband’s birthday and left very disappointed. You had a real opportunity here to earn a good tip and review but it was spoilt by rudeness. Reading your reviews it seems a common thing that the service is bad. ![]() I forgive the onion situation I admit I am partly to blame for not asking, but what I don’t forgive is bad service and rudeness. I’ve travelled around the world and never once complained about a meal or sent one back. You ruined my birthday, focused far too much on larger table behind us ( really wasn’t that busy as you had plenty time to stand around near the till area). After 15 minutes eventually someone asked if we wanted another drink but at this point we just wanted to leave, we asked for the bill and after 10 minutes still no bill, the server came back to the table and we asked for the bill again. Again he didn’t ask if our meals were ok, if we wanted dessert but he proceeded to walk off and show the other wait staff how much of my food was left. After sitting for over 25 minutes after my partner finished food eventually a staff member took our plates away. Not once did a server come back and ask if either of our meals were ok, whether we wanted anymore drinks etc. I really didn’t want to send this back again as I didn’t want to come across like a trouble maker. To my surprise my spaghetti wasn’t fully cooked and still hard in the centre. My meal then came within 10 minutes which was great as my Partner was already eating. The server seemed a little annoyed as he had taken my order but I really am not a person to ever complain or send food back. When my meal arrived it has onions in- which I’m aware this can happen so we asked the server if this could be changed. My carbonara even to the point of stating it contained chives. The menu very much in detail specified what was on the plate. Shortly after a large table arrived which delayed in us ordering our food. My cocktail was delicious and arrived quite promptly. I must admit it’s a beautiful place, lovely scenic views. Was celebrating my 30th birthday meal here.
